All Clear For Sara

Today God has given us another reason to praise him. The "spot" that showed up in Sara's brain a few months ago is now smaller. The doctors are now certain it must be scar tissue from the October surgery. Sara can go 3 months before another examination.

Needless to say but we'll say it; everyone is relieved. Thank you for your prayers and Praise the Lord!

That good news comes right after a weekend of celebrating 60 years of marriage for Roger and Sara.

Sara's Heart Back in Rhythm

Today at Kansas Heart Hospital Sara's heart was "converted" and is now beating smooth and normal

After a a five day stay in the hospital most of the fluid that collected in the pericardial cavity has been drained and today Sara's heart was converted when the doctor applied just one electric shock.

Please pray that Sara's heart remains in normal rhythm and that there's no more fluid build up. Sara also contracted a bladder infection as a result of the procedures; pray that heals quickly

Sara and Roger return home tomorrow, Tuesday. Pray they both get good rest after nearly a week in the hospital (Roger remained with Sara most of the time)

Great News

There was some concern that Sara might have suffered a mild stroke during her surgery last week. Sara is no longer symptomatic and this week's MRI showed no signs of stroke AND
no signs of any tumors!

We know that we are temporary on this earth but
Praise God from whom all blessings flow for Sara's continued health!

Sara Doing Well

Sara and Roger returned home Saturday June 10. Sara's doctor thinks she's doing okay. Sara feels fine today but still gets tired throughout the day. Her heart is in atrial flutter but with time should get into proper rhythm.

Sara is eating solid food today. They are trying to get her up and walking but she's still very weak and shakey on her feet. Her drain tubes might come out today, but don't know yet. She still feels the effects of the anesthesia but she's a lot better than yesterday

Sara's Surgery is Success

Sara is out of surgery and her heart is back in proper rhythm. The surgeon said she "no longer needs to worry about blood clots."

Needless to say Roger and the entire family are thanking God.

Roger and Sara may have to remain in Cincinnatti for another week.

Sara and Roger To Cincinnati

On July 1 Sara and Roger leave for Cincinnati and Deaconess Hospital 311 Straight Street Cincinnati Ohio 45219 where Sara will undergo surgery to correct her irregular heart beat

Sara checks into the hospital on July 5th to undergo CTA scan and other pre-admission tests.

The actual surgery is to take place on July 6 at 8 am.

Please pray for safe travel for Roger and Sara, for all tests to be okay for surgery, and for successful surgery.

Please also pray for continual remission of Sara's cancer

Update on Sara

On Christmas eve Sara completed radiation treatments. Her energy level has of course decreased and she experiences times of disorientation.

However, this week's examination held some positive news. Her MRI show no new cancer cells and the surgery bed in her brain shows some healing. She's experiencing back pain but examination showed it's not structural.

We praise God for being with her and us through these "momentary" times and we thank him for his eternal blessings.

Sara Begins Radiation- Doc says "WOW"

Great News! Sara began radiation therapy today and all went well. But that's not the great news.

The radiation doctor examined Sara's latest scans and tests and said "Wow, In all my years I've never seen anything like it. The edema, everything is gone. I'm going to send all my patients to Mayo."

God's blessings through modern medicine!

Sara will remain on radiation five days/week for six weeks.

Sara and Roger returned to Wichita yesterday. Sara is doing very good considering having just undergone brain surgery. Her eyes are focusing and feeling better.

Sara, Roger, and the entire family thank you for your prayers during the past critical week and for your continued intercessions for Sara and Roger.

Sara Leaving Hospital

Sara is doing well and will be leaving the hospital today. Sara and Roger and daughter Donna will remain in Rochester until Saturday and then return to Wichita. Other kids are probably headed to Wichita today.

Sara will undergo 6 weeks of radiation therapy back in Wichita

Sara had a good night last night. As of 10 this morning she is being examined and will receive an MRI. Immediately afterwards she will be transferred from ICU to a room- St. Mary's Hospital-Mayo Medical Center-Rochester Minnesota.

Roger and family are in good spirits.

Sara is out of recovery and into intensive care. She looks better than we expected and she's alert.

It's wait and see to know when she'll be released from the hospital and return to Wichita.

Sara Sails Through Critical Hour

Great News! Sara has made it through the critical hour with no apparent problems.
She remains in recovery but we don't know if she's awake yet.

Roger is breathing a little easier as are we all.
Still looks like 3 days in the hospital and perhaps a couple of days in the hotel before returning to Wichita.

Sara out of Surgery

Sara just came out of surgery. Surgeon said it went as well as he expected. He cut out more than 90% of the tumor.

Sara is in recovery but no one has seen her yet. Surgeon said next hour is critical to learn if/how much function loss she might have suffered.

She might be released from hospital as early as Friday.

Surgery for Sara

Sara will undergo surgery tomorrow, Tuesday Oct 13, at 7:45 AM or thereabouts.
The tumor is an aggressive type but the surgeon has few concerns.

Sara will remain in the hospital for at least 3 days after surgery. Back in Wichita she'll need both radiation and chemo therapy but those details are not yet worked out.

Please pray all goes well with tomorrow's surgery.

Update on Sara

Roger and Sara are at Mayo Medical Center in Rochester Minnesota. Their children will all be here by Friday Night.

Sara will undergo more tests on Monday and then a decision will be made how soon surgery can be performed. If we get favorable test results on Monday, surgery will be on Tuesday. Sara will be in recovery here for 5 days before returning home.

Your prayers and support are appreciated and greatly cherished. We ask there be no phone calls to Roger and Sara for the time being. They are tired-- they love you all.

Sara and Roger will check in at Mayo Clinic at 7:45 am on Thursday Oct 8
At 8:30 am Sara will be examined by Dr Lachance
At 1 pm Sara will be examined by neurosurgeon Dr Meyer

We assume surgery will occur on Friday Oct 9 and we think it will be performed with a Gamma Knife-now considered the best method to treat brain tumors. It zaps the tumor with high doses of radiation and exacting precision.

This just in. Sara is scheduled for examination at Mayo Clinic on October 8. After the examination the medical team will determine the best course of action to take. If surgery is required it will be performed at that time.

Sara Williams Condition

As you might already know, a tumor has been discovered in the brain of Sara Williams; wife of Roger Williams and mother of Donna, Paul, Russell & Terry Williams-pastor of River Community Church.

Sara is experiencing hurting eyes, vision problems, and headaches. Sara's heart is also in atrial fibrillation which is adding to her fatigue.

Sara and Roger are awaiting an appointment at Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. Sara's local doctor feels there she'll get the best care.

Sara and Roger are loved by their family and church family. As always they continue to be encouragers to everyone around them.

Please pray for strength for Sara and Roger and that Sara will be healed. Please pray for their safety for their travel to Minnesota.
